The Marketing Association of South Africa (MASA) is the apex member association and professional body for the South African marketing profession and the representative voice for organisations and individuals within the South Africa marketing industry.

Largely targeted at large corporates with sizeable marketing teams operating in South Africa, this top end tier of our membership structure allows for corporate members to support MASA in the work it does to drive self-organisation within the marketing industry across such key pillars as professional development, ethical marketing practices, the adoption of common standards, self-regulation, independent and credible marketing industry research, leading and influencing transformation, policy, legislation, education, and training, learning and development, as well as best practice on marketing and related business topics including recognition of marketing excellence.

This membership tier is targeted at service provision focused SMME’s, individual consultants and freelancers in marketing with the benefit of providing connectivity with large corporates as well as our individual and certified designated members for the furtherance of the work they do across the marketing, advertising, and communications ecosystem.

Designations:

Becoming a Certified Professional Marketer, promotes an individual's career prospects, adding status and prestige to their standing as a marketer by recognising and confirming their hard earned experience, applied skill and competency to industry, the public at large, employers and clients alike.

• Chartered Marketer South Africa (CMSA) - This Designation is aimed at marketing professionals who have practised marketing for at least 10 years with no less than and three years at senior executive level.

• Marketing Practitioner South Africa (MPSA) - This Designation is aimed at marketing practitioners who have practiced marketing for at least five years.

• Associate Marketer South Africa (AMSA) - Entry level Designation, NQF 5 in Marketing and limited marketing experience

AMSA - Entry level Designation obtained on qualification only. NQF Level 5 or higher qualification required to apply for an AMSA certified designation based on qualification only.

MASA Critical Skills:

If you are applying for a Critical Skills VISA to work in the marketing, advertising, and communications sector in South Africa,  you are required to have a Designated Membership with MASA as a Professional Body. We offer a shortened route towards the Associate Marketer SA Designation at an Operational Level for those applying for critical skills visas who have a NQF 8 (or higher) Marketing Qualification.
